Hygiene

Since the skin is broken with a needle when doing a tattoo, there is always a risk for infection. Contaminated equipment such as dirty needles can lead to infection where bacteria or viruses might get into the bloodstream. This can result to getting hepatitis or HIV.

Tattoo artist's responsibility is to ensure safe working environment and its cleanliness as well as sterility of the instruments. We use only single-packed, sterile disposable needles that are disposed immediately after use. Tips are disposable. Grips are either single-use or cleaned by hand and with an ultrasonic cleaner before they are sterilized in an autoclave. Tattoo machines and spray bottles are protected from cross-contamination with disposable bags. All the razors, inks, gloves and such equipment are disposable. Worktops are disinfected and protected with disposable covers for every client.

In addition, the water that we use is ozonized. Ozone kills microbes and bacteria from the water, and ozonized water kills them from surfaces and equipment.

You have the right to ask about hygiene from your tattooer. A responsible professional won't be insulted by the subject, but will be glad to answer your questions.
